A stag and doe by bus - the Jack and Jill, the buck and doe, Southwestern Ontario's pre-wedding fundraiser in a small-town hall or a Legion with the tickets, the toonie toss, the raffle and two hundred guests - is, with LondonLimo.net, a shuttle loop through the partner fleet: a coach for forty-eight or a party bus for sixteen to thirty running between the couple's London neighbourhood or the hotels and the hall in Ilderton, Komoka, Thorndale, Dorchester, Lambeth or St. Thomas, out at 7:30 and 8:30 and home at midnight and 1, at a per-day quote for the coach or $190-290 an hour for the bus, with the wedding party's stretch by the hour and the rules aboard the AGCO's. The group transportation page has the shuttle and the party bus page the bus; this article is the stag and doe, moved safely, with the arithmetic against the designated drivers on a county road at 1 a.m.
The stag and doe, briefly
The couple's friends sell tickets to a hall party - a Legion, a community centre, a fairground's hall, a farm's barn - with a bar, a DJ, the toonie toss, the fifty-fifty draw and the raffle table, and the proceeds go to the wedding; the hall is often in the couple's home town twenty to forty minutes from London, the guests come from the city and the towns, and the drive home is the county road at 1 a.m. The wedding page has the wedding the party pays for.
| The hall's town | From London | The road | The shuttle's loop | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ilderton | 20 min | Highbury and the county road | Masonville to the hall | The Legion and the community centre |
| Komoka and Kilworth | 20 min | Oxford Street West and Glendon | Byron to the hall | The community centre |
| Thorndale | 25 min | Highway 7 and the county road | Old North to the hall | The Legion |
| Dorchester | 20 min | Hamilton Road and Dorchester Road | The east side to the hall | The community centre |
| Lambeth | 15 min | Wharncliffe and Colonel Talbot | The south to the hall | The Legion; inside the city's limit |
| St. Thomas | 30 min | Wellington Road and Highway 4 | The DoubleTree to the hall | The Legion and the halls |
| Strathroy | 35 min | The 402 | The west side to the hall | The Legion and the arena's hall |
The destination pages have the towns; the neighbourhoods page the city's pickups.
The shuttle loop
A coach for forty-eight or a bus for thirty leaves one London pickup - the couple's neighbourhood, or the DoubleTree for the out-of-town guests - at 7:30 and again at 8:30, waits at the hall or returns for the second run, and brings the guests home at midnight and 1; two hundred guests need two coaches on two runs each or the guests' own designated drivers, and the desk plans the manifest with the couple's friends who sold the tickets. The group transportation page has the manifest.

The party bus for the wedding party
The couple, the wedding party and twenty friends in the partner fleet's bus from 7 to 1:30 - the couple's house, a photograph stop, the hall, and the drops - at $190-290 an hour with the sound and the lights, the party bus article has the bus and the wedding venues article the wedding to come.
The stretch for the couple
The couple and eight friends in the stretch at $150-220 an hour for the entrance the hall applauds, the photographs at the hall's door, and the drive home at 1; the fleet page has the stretch and the four-hour minimum.
The county road at 1 a.m., honestly
The county roads from Ilderton, Thorndale and Dorchester are unlit, two-lane, and in December iced; the OPP's RIDE programme sits on them on a Saturday night; and a stag and doe's bar is the point of the evening. The coach's driver has been sober since noon, the bus's the same, and the comparison guide does the arithmetic the ticket-sellers do: two coaches for two hundred guests against forty designated drivers who do not drink at a party they paid for.
The per-head arithmetic
A coach for forty-eight on a per-day quote of $1,300-1,500 for the two runs each way is $27-31 a head; a bus for thirty for six hours at $275 is $1,650, $55 a head; the ticket-sellers add $10 to the ticket for the shuttle and the hall's lot is empty at 1; the rates page has the hourly figures and the desk the coach's quote.
The rules aboard
The coach is dry - no alcohol aboard, by the partner fleet's rule for a coach; the party bus and the stretch carry alcohol for legal-age passengers under the AGCO's rules; nobody under nineteen drinks anywhere; a dangerously drunk guest is not carried and the couple's friends are told; the party bus page states the rules.
The out-of-town guests
The guests from Toronto, Windsor and Kitchener at the DoubleTree or the Wellington Road hotels booked through the travel desk, the coach's pickup at the porte-cochere, and the drop at 1; the hotels article has the clusters, and the wedding's guests use the same hotels a season later.
Three stag and does, as they went
Ilderton's community centre, two hundred guests, October. Two coaches from Masonville and the DoubleTree at 7:30 and 8:30, the hall, the runs home at midnight and 1. Two per-day quotes; the ticket-sellers added $10 a ticket.
A Dorchester barn, the wedding party of twenty, June. The bus from the couple's Old South house at 7, a photograph stop at the forks, the barn at 8, the drops to 2. Seven hours.
Lambeth's Legion, the couple and eight, March. The stretch at 7:30, the Legion's door at 8 to applause, the drive home at 1. Five and a half hours.
Booking it
The stag and doe is one email or call to the desk from the ticket-sellers with the date, the hall, the numbers and the pickups; the desk plans the loop and sends a written quote; the group transportation page has the shuttle.
Three questions the ticket-sellers ask
Can the coach make two pickups? Yes - Masonville and the DoubleTree, or Byron and Old South - on one run, if the two are on the way; three pickups eat the schedule and the desk plans two.
What if the hall runs late? The coach's driver has the hall's end time and the organiser's phone, waits thirty minutes inside the quote, and bills the hourly rate after; the rates page has the figure.
Can the coach carry the raffle prizes and the coolers? Yes - the bays take the coolers, the prizes and the DJ's gear, and the FAQ has the rest.
The halls, in detail

The shuttle loop, in detail
The coach at the Masonville pickup at 7:15, the DoubleTree at 7:30, the hall at 7:55; back to the pickups for the 8:30 run and the hall at 8:55; the driver waits at the hall or, for a hall forty minutes out, stays; the midnight run to the pickups and the 1 a.m. run, with the last guests at the hall's door at 1:15 and the driver counting them aboard; the group transportation page has the manifest the ticket-sellers fill.
The bus for the wedding party, in detail
The couple's house at 7 with the wedding party and twenty friends aboard, the sound on, a photograph stop at the forks, the hall at 8 to the applause, and the drops from 1; the bus's rules aboard - legal-age alcohol, nobody under nineteen, nothing leaving the bus - and the party bus page has them.
The stretch, in detail
The couple and eight from the house at 7:30, the hall's door at 8 for the entrance, the photographs at the door, the stretch parked at the hall or released and back at 1; the four-hour minimum and the fleet page's stretch through the partner fleet.
The county roads, in detail
Ilderton Road, Highbury north of the city, Highway 7 to Thorndale, Dorchester Road, Colonel Talbot to Lambeth, Highway 4 to St. Thomas: two lanes, no lights, deer at the edges and ice from December, with the OPP's RIDE checks on the Saturday nights before Christmas; the comparison guide does the arithmetic and the winter article has the ice.
The ticket's arithmetic, in detail
Two coaches at $1,400 each for two runs each way is $2,800 for two hundred guests, $14 a head, and the ticket-sellers add $10 and take the rest from the bar; a bus for thirty at $275 for six hours is $1,650, $55 a head, for the wedding party's own night; the rates page has the hourly figures and the desk the coach's quote.
The out-of-town guests, in detail
The DoubleTree and the Wellington Road hotels through the travel desk at the hotels' group rate, the coach's pickup at the porte-cochere at 7:30, the drop at 1, and the same hotels a season later for the wedding; the hotels article has the clusters and the wedding page the wedding.
Booking checklist for the stag and doe
The date; the hall and its town; the numbers; the pickups; the runs' times; the wedding party's vehicle; the coolers and the prizes; the organiser's card. Eight lines to the desk from the ticket-sellers and the loop's quote comes back within a working day.
The honest summary
Two hundred guests, a hall in a village and a county road at 1 a.m.: a coach's loop for $14 a head and a driver sober since noon; the group transportation page has the shuttle and the party bus page the wedding party's bus.
A worked example: Thorndale's Legion
Two hundred and twenty tickets for a Thorndale Legion stag and doe in November: two coaches from Masonville and the DoubleTree at 7:15 and 8:15, the Legion at 7:50 and 8:50, the drivers at the hall, the runs home at midnight and 1:10 with the last guests counted aboard at 1:15; two per-day quotes of $1,400, $12.70 a head, and the ticket-sellers' $10 covered most of it. The wedding party's bus ran separately from the couple's Old North house, and the wedding page has the wedding the night paid for.
The desk's rule of thumb
A coach's loop for the guests at $12-15 a head; the bus for the wedding party; the stretch for the couple's entrance; two pickups and not three; the coach dry and the bus on the province's rules; and the county road driven by someone sober since noon. The group transportation page has the shuttle.
