Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) is the capital's single-terminal airport, 12 km and fifteen to twenty-five minutes south of Parliament Hill, served by Air Canada, WestJet, Porter and the US carriers. From London, Ontario you reach it by Porter from Billy Bishop, Air Canada from Pearson or a YXU connection, or by VIA Rail; at the far end a chauffeur meets you at the arrivals level by the carousels with your name on a board. That chauffeur is a directory-vetted network operator booked by LondonLimo.net's London desk on your account - the same standard, the same confirmation, the local details the evening before, one invoice - and this page describes the airport, the drive and the booking as a London traveller meets them.
Why a London traveller books the Ottawa end through us
The Ottawa day is a fixture for London's head offices, the university and the public bodies: a federal department, a regulator, a lobby, a conference at the Shaw Centre, a hearing on the Hill. The traveller already books the London-side run - a 4 a.m. pickup to Billy Bishop for the 7 a.m. Porter - on this site; adding the Ottawa chauffeur to the same booking means one confirmation, one standard, one invoice and no search for a taxi in a city they may not know. The Ottawa operator is found and vetted through the LimousineWorldwide.Directory, contracted to our chauffeur standard, and connected to our dispatch, which is how a desk in London can put a car at an Ottawa carousel at 8:15 a.m. and know it is there.

The terminal
One building, opened in 2003 and expanded since, with departures and check-in on the upper level, the CATSA checkpoint and the gates beyond, US preclearance for the American flights, and arrivals with the carousels and the customs hall on the lower level. It is compact and calm; the walk from the gate to the carousel is five minutes and the chauffeur is visible from the carousel. The airport's site publishes the flight board.

Where the chauffeur meets you
At the arrivals level by the carousels with a name board, or at the curb on the arrivals roadway when you text; the confirmation from the London desk carries the local chauffeur's name, mobile and plate the evening before, and the flight is tracked from Toronto. Thirty minutes of wait is included on a domestic arrival, sixty on an international one.
The drive: the Airport Parkway and the city
The Airport Parkway runs straight north to Bronson Avenue and downtown in fifteen minutes off-peak, twenty-five at 8:30 a.m.; Kanata's technology park and the Canadian Tire Centre are thirty minutes west on the 417; Gatineau across the river is twenty-five. The Hill, the Chateau Laurier, the Westin and the Shaw Centre are together at the east end of downtown; the Ottawa city site and Ottawa Tourism describe the districts. The chauffeur knows the security cordon around the Hill and where a car may stop on Wellington Street.
Parliament, the departments and the official day
Meetings on the Hill, at the departments along Sussex and in the Tunney's Pasture and Gatineau office complexes, hearings at the Supreme Court, appearances before committees: the Ottawa day is an hourly booking with the chauffeur waiting, or a chain of point-to-point runs, and the London desk builds it from the traveller's schedule on the corporate account. Security at government buildings is the Parliament's and the departments' own; the chauffeur waits where the building's staff direct.
Corporate accounts and the Ottawa line
A London company with Ottawa business holds the Ottawa end as a line on its account: the standing 7 a.m. Porter, the chauffeur at YOW, the day by the hour, the 6 p.m. flight, and the chauffeur at Eireann Quay on the return - one invoice with the Ottawa legs coded like the London ones. The corporate chauffeur service page describes the account; the Billy Bishop page the London end of the Ottawa day.

Winter in the capital
Ottawa is colder than London and its winters are longer; the airport de-ices, the Parkway is cleared, and the chauffeur's vehicle has the winter tires and the all-wheel drive the standard requires. Flights from Toronto in a January storm are tracked and never charged; a network chauffeur re-timed by the London desk is the point of one dispatch.
Families, students and the tourist Ottawa
Carleton and the University of Ottawa send students home to London and receive them back in September; families visit the museums, the Canal, Winterlude and the tulips; grandparents fly in for a graduation. An SUV at YOW for a family with luggage, a sedan for a student, a van for the reunion: the London desk books the local class and the group transportation desk the coaches.
VIA Rail and the alternatives, honestly
VIA Rail runs London to Ottawa via Toronto in five to six hours and is a comfortable day's travel for a solo traveller; the OC Transpo O-Train's airport line reaches downtown for a few dollars; taxis are at the rank. The chauffeur wins for the traveller who wants the name board, the fixed arrangement and the day by the hour, and for the company that wants the whole trip on one invoice.
Three Ottawa bookings, as they actually ran
A regulatory hearing, Tuesday. A London executive on the 7 a.m. Porter from Billy Bishop; a network sedan at YOW at 8:10; the Hill, a department on Sussex and a lunch, by the hour; back to YOW at 5:30 for the 6:20 flight; a LondonLimo.net chauffeur at Eireann Quay at 7:35. One booking, one invoice.
A graduation, June. A London family on the Air Canada flight from YXU via Pearson; a network SUV at YOW at 1 p.m.; the hotel, the ceremony at Carleton the next day, and the airport Sunday. Three local legs on the household account.
A conference at the Shaw Centre, October. Six London delegates on Porter; a network van at YOW; the Westin; the airport three days later. On the corporate account with the London-side Sprinter to Billy Bishop.
How the far end works. Chauffeurs at this airport are directory-vetted operators found through the LimousineWorldwide.Directory, contracted to LondonLimo.net's published standard and booked by our London desk on your account: the same vehicle classes, the same confirmation, the local chauffeur's details the evening before, one invoice. Local rates are quoted by the desk; the London-side run is priced on the engine. Airport and airline names describe where we drive and imply no affiliation.
How the network booking actually works
You book the London-side run on the reservation engine as usual - say, Old North to Billy Bishop at 4 a.m. - and tell the desk you want the Ottawa end. The desk confirms the Ottawa operator's availability and rate within the hour, adds the Ottawa leg to your confirmation with the meeting point and the vehicle class, and sends the Ottawa chauffeur's name, mobile and plate the evening before your flight. The operator is on our dispatch's list with a signed contract to the chauffeur standard: licensed in Ontario, insured for hire, chauffeurs screened, vehicles inspected, a written confidentiality undertaking. If anything goes wrong in Ottawa you call our desk, not theirs; we reach the chauffeur in seconds. Payment is on your LondonLimo.net card or account; the Ottawa leg appears on the same invoice.
The Ottawa hotels and the districts a London traveller uses
The Chateau Laurier and the Westin beside the Shaw Centre and the Hill; the Lord Elgin and the Marriott on the Elgin-Kent axis; the Byward Market's boutique hotels; the Kanata hotels for the technology park; the Brookstreet for the Ottawa Senators' arena. The chauffeur knows the porte-cocheres and the loading zones; the travel desk books the room on the same file as the flights and the chauffeurs.
What the Ottawa day costs, honestly
The local rate for an airport-to-downtown run in Ottawa is comparable to the YXU-to-downtown figure in London, and an hourly day is priced by the local operator at a rate the desk quotes before you confirm - usually in the same band as our London hourly figures. The London-side run to Billy Bishop or Pearson is the larger number, and it is on the engine. There is no mark-up beyond the operator's rate; the desk's fee is in it, and the confirmation shows one number.
Gatineau, the Outaouais and the drive north
Across the river, Gatineau's federal offices and the Canadian Museum of History are twenty-five minutes from YOW; the Gatineau Park hills and the Outaouais cottage country an hour; Mont-Tremblant two hours north for a ski weekend. The network chauffeur quotes each as a fixed run or a day by the hour, and Quebec's winter-tire law applies from December to March on that side of the river.
Groups and delegations to the capital
A London company's delegation of ten to a federal consultation, a Western research group to a granting agency, a school trip to the Parliament tour: a network Sprinter or van at YOW, the hotel-to-Hill shuttles, and the return are quoted by the desk from the schedule with a manifest, the way the group transportation page describes. Coaches for larger groups come through the network's Ottawa coach operators.
Winterlude, the tulips, Canada Day and the calendar
Ottawa's calendar closes streets: Winterlude in February, the Tulip Festival in May, Canada Day on the Hill, Bluesfest in July, the Christmas lights. The network chauffeur knows the closures and the drop-off points, and the desk plans a visit around them. The Ottawa city site publishes the closures; the travel desk the hotels that fill months ahead.
Ottawa's airport for the London family
Grandparents flying to London for Christmas start at YOW with a network chauffeur from a house in Nepean or Orleans, fly Porter to Billy Bishop or Air Canada to Pearson, and are met on the Toronto side by a LondonLimo.net chauffeur for the drive down the 401 - three legs on one household account, booked by a daughter in London in ten minutes. The reverse for a London family visiting the capital at Winterlude or for the tulips is the same booking mirrored, with an SUV at YOW for the luggage and the Ottawa city site's festival closures already known to the chauffeur.
Booking checklist
The flight number and the airline at both ends; the Ottawa address or hotel; whether you want a meet and greet or curbside; the vehicle class; the hours if it is a day by the hour; and the account or card. With those the desk confirms both ends in one email, and the rates page has the London-side figures.
