A chauffeured black car from London, Ontario to St. Thomas with LondonLimo.net is 30 km south on Wellington Road and Highway 4 or Highbury Avenue in about thirty minutes off-peak, at a fixed rate shown before you confirm - a planning figure of $85-110 plus HST for a business sedan, $110-135 for an SUV, $190-240 for a Sprinter; Port Stanley on the Lake Erie shore is fifteen minutes further at $105-130. St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Talbot Street's downtown, the Elgin County Railway Museum, the new industrial lands east of the city where the Volkswagen PowerCo battery plant is rising, Port Stanley's Main Beach, harbour and Festival Theatre, and Sparta's village are the addresses the chauffeurs know. St. Thomas is close enough to London that many of its addresses are priced on the engine as London's neighbours.
Why Londoners go to St. Thomas and Port Stanley
The hospital, the plant and the beach. St. Thomas Elgin General serves Elgin County and its patients come to London's hospitals for what it does not do, while London specialists visit it; the PowerCo battery plant and the industrial lands around it have made St. Thomas the province's largest construction site and brought London's engineers, contractors, suppliers and the visiting executives who fly into YXU; and Port Stanley's beach, harbour, restaurants and summer theatre are London's own lakeshore, half an hour away. The railway city's museum and its restored downtown, the Elgin County courthouse, Sparta's village and the wineries and orchards along the Elgin shore fill in the rest.

The drive
Wellington Road south past the 401 to Highway 4 through Lambeth's edge and Talbotville into St. Thomas's north end, or Highbury Avenue south to the east side and the industrial lands; thirty minutes to Talbot Street. Port Stanley is fifteen minutes further south on Highway 4, which becomes Sunset Drive and drops down the bluff to the harbour. Country roads, light traffic, and a summer-Saturday queue into Port Stanley that the chauffeur avoids by the back road through Union; Ontario 511 is read in winter for the drifting on the 4.

St. Thomas Elgin General and the medical run
The hospital on Elm Street serves the county and exchanges patients and specialists with London's hospitals constantly: a London family's appointment at St. Thomas, an Elgin family's referral to University Hospital or Victoria, a discharge home to Aylmer or Port Stanley - each is a chauffeured run with the chauffeur waiting at the entrance, by the hour or as fixed rates on a household account.
The battery plant and the construction boom
The PowerCo gigafactory site and the industrial lands east of the city have brought thousands of construction workers, engineers and suppliers, and their visitors: London's contractors and engineering firms send people daily, executives fly into YXU and Pearson for the site, and the St. Thomas day is an hourly booking on the corporate account with the site office at 8, the city's planning department at 11 and lunch on Talbot Street. A visiting delegation is a Sprinter on the group transportation page.
Port Stanley: the beach, the harbour and the theatre
Main Beach and Little Beach, the harbour's fish-and-chip stands and restaurants, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre's summer season, the King George VI lift bridge, the Port Stanley Terminal Rail's tourist train, the ice cream on Bridge Street: a London family's or couple's summer Saturday by the hour with the chauffeur parked by the harbour and the cooler in the car, or an evening at the theatre with dinner before, and the drive back up the bluff at dusk.

Talbot Street, the railway city and the courthouse
St. Thomas's restored downtown on Talbot Street, the Elgin County courthouse and the county offices on Wellington Street, the Railway Museum in the old Michigan Central shops, the Jumbo monument, the CASO station: the official visit is a fixed rate or a morning by the hour; a family's afternoon at the museum is the same. The City of St. Thomas's site publishes the calendar - the railway festival, the Iron Horse festival, the Christmas parade.
Sparta, the Elgin shore and the county
Sparta's Quaker village and its tea room, the orchards and the wineries along the Elgin shore, Port Bruce and Port Burwell's beaches and lighthouse, Aylmer's Mennonite and Amish country: the Elgin County tourism pages list the season, and a London day by the hour touches Sparta, a winery and Port Stanley with lunch by the harbour.
Weddings and events on the shore
Port Stanley's harbourfront venues, the Elgin County barn venues around Sparta and Union, the St. Thomas golf clubs, the Railway Museum's event space: a London wedding party by Sprinter and the guests by coach, the couple in a stretch through our partner fleet, quoted from the timeline as the wedding page describes - and the summer-Saturday beach traffic built into the timings.
Students, commuters and the household account
St. Thomas families send students to Western and Fanshawe, commuters work in London's hospitals and head offices, and London families have parents in St. Thomas: the household account holds the addresses and the standing bookings, and the chauffeured run is cheaper than a second car for the hospital week or the exam-week pickup.
Winter on Highway 4
The 4 and the county roads drift in a west wind off Lake Erie and the bluff into Port Stanley ices; the chauffeur reads 511 and the forecast, uses Highbury or Wellington when the 4 is bad, and the vehicle has winter tires from November to April. The fixed rate is unchanged.
The honest alternatives
There is no train to St. Thomas and the bus from London is infrequent; a London taxi on the meter costs about the chauffeured fare with none of the certainty; driving yourself to Port Stanley on a July Saturday means the queue into the village and the search for parking. For the hospital run, the site day, the beach Saturday and the theatre evening, the chauffeured fixed rate or the day by the hour.
Three Elgin County bookings, as they actually ran
A hospital week, Monday to Friday. A business sedan from Old South at 7 each morning to St. Thomas Elgin General for a course of treatment, waiting, and home by 10; booked by a son in Ottawa on a household account as a standing week.
A site visit and lunch, Tuesday. A business sedan from a London engineering office at 7:30, the PowerCo site office at 8, the city's planning department at 11, lunch on Talbot Street, and home at 2. On the corporate account; six and a half hours.
A beach Saturday, July. An executive SUV for six from Masonville at 10, Main Beach by 10:50 with the cooler and the chairs, the theatre's 2 p.m. matinee for the grandparents, fish and chips at 5, and home at 7. Nine hours; nobody queued for parking.
Three questions the desk is asked about St. Thomas
Is St. Thomas priced as London? The north end and the industrial lands are close to the London figure; Port Stanley and the shore are their own addresses. Can the chauffeur wait at the beach all day? Yes, by the hour, parked by the harbour. Can we collect a parent in St. Thomas on the way to Pearson? Yes, as a stop.
Booking it
Two addresses on the reservation engine, the date and time, the vehicle class; the fixed rate appears; or book the county day by the hour. Standing hospital runs and site days are set up by the desk; the rates page has St. Thomas beside Woodstock and Stratford.
Planning figures. Rates are LondonLimo.net planning ranges before HST, one way from downtown London; the engine quotes the exact addresses, date and vehicle. Hospital, plant, venue and theatre names describe where we drive and imply no affiliation.
What St. Thomas and Port Stanley look like from the car
Highway 4 south through Lambeth's edge and the flat farmland to the railway city's north end and its new industrial lands with the battery plant's steel rising beside the 401 corridor, Talbot Street's long Victorian downtown with the Jumbo elephant at its west end, the courthouse on its hill, the railway shops that hold the museum, and then Sunset Drive dropping down the bluff to Port Stanley's harbour with the lift bridge, the beach and the lake beyond. The chauffeur knows the summer-Saturday queue into the village and the back road through Union that avoids it; the City of St. Thomas's site publishes the construction closures around the industrial lands.
Visitors coming the other way
A St. Thomas company's team to a London customer, an Elgin patient to a London hospital, a PowerCo contractor's executive collected in St. Thomas for a Pearson flight, a Port Stanley family to YXU: the same chauffeur, the same fixed rate in reverse, and the corporate account working for the St. Thomas company as it does for the London one.
Corporate accounts and the construction boom
The battery plant's construction has brought contractors, engineers, inspectors and suppliers from London and across the country, and a corporate account turns their travel into standing bookings: the daily run from a London hotel to the site office, the executive collected at YXU or Pearson and driven to the site, the delegation by Sprinter, the return to the airport at the end of the week. The corporate chauffeur service page describes the account; the YXU page the meet and greet.
Booking checklist
The London address and the St. Thomas or Port Stanley address; the date and time; the vehicle class; whether the day is by the hour; whether the run continues to the airport; the group size for a beach day or a site visit; and the account or card. The desk confirms in one email.
Aylmer, the Amish country and the county's east
Aylmer's main street and its Mennonite and Amish farms, the Springwater Conservation Area, Port Bruce's small beach, the Sparta-to-Aylmer country roads: twenty minutes east of St. Thomas, and a London family's Saturday by the hour touches Sparta's tea room, a farm stand and Port Bruce with the chauffeur waiting at each. The Elgin County site lists the farm stands and the seasonal openings.
